What is the Skype Voice Services Program?
The Skype Voice Services Program enables you to offer voice services and content to Skype's 52 million users. There are two models for voice services:
- Free services: these are free for the Skype caller. You pay a small per minute fee for the hosting and promotion of these services.
- Chargeable services: callers pay per minute from their Skype Credit. You receive a share of the call revenue.

How can I join and create services?
- Open an account on Voxbuilder, our online service creation environment
- Download and install free Skype software. Use Voxbuilder and Skype to build and test your services
- Use the free Voxbuilder resources, tutorials etc. to build your service
- Call your service from anywhere in the world by dialing +99000745745745 or
- Get your own Skype Service Identifier or developer package by completing the order form here.
Our recommendation: use headsets with a microphone to call your voice application in order to avoid confusion while speaking the prompts. For more information, please visit the Store page of the Skype Website.
What is the role of MAP Telecom in the program?
MAP Telecom in partnership with its platform provider Voxpilot has been chosen among three platform partners to enable content providers to create innovative new voice services. MAP Telecom hosts your voice services, provides development resources and manages the submission process for new services.
What does it cost to develop services using Skype?
With MAP Telecom, you can participate in the Skype Voice Services Program for free, and create and test your services by dialing +99000745745745 from anywhere in the world.
What kind of services can I offer?

So what will I earn for charged services?
This is up to you, as you define the per-minute charge to callers. You receive a percentage of the call revenue, so the more users call your service and the longer their calls, the more money you make. It's that easy! Skype bills callers for each minute they are connected to your service, and promotes your service. In exchange, Skype retains 30% of the call revenue. 40% of the call revenue is then passed to you.
What is the fee for free services?
The fee for free services is EUR 0,10 per minute.
What support options are available?
You have a number of support options. You can order a Skype developer package, which, for 120 EUR, contains a free Skype Service Identifier and three technical support incidents. To report problems or technical issues, please write to our support team.
How can I submit a service to Skype?
You need to submit your service through MAP Telecom. Please send a mail with the following details to our sales team.
- Description of your service
- Telephone number
- Business model if relevant
- Price per minute for chargeable services. Skype will assign you a Service Identifier for this chargeable service
- For Free Services, a proposed Skype Name for the service
- Supporting material for end users, such as FAQs, user manuals and other documentation.
After initial screening, MAP Telecom will submit your service to Skype, and Skype will choose which applications it will launch as a live service. All live services will be promoted in the upcoming Voice Services directory.
